New to Denver? Weather Elements to Expect and Benefits of Interlocking Denver Hardscaping

Denver has become a very popular place for people all over the country to move. Whether you are a new resident, or planning to move to Denver, there is much to learn. For each winter, you can expect an average of anywhere between 55 and 60 inches of snow. This can make the winter months quite busy! Here are some things to expect if you are new Denver resident and how Denver hardscaping can make winter maintenance easier.

Weather Conditions: As a new Denver resident, you will love the summertime! Humidity is low and it is often sunny.  August typically has the highest temperatures, which are in the mid-80s. There are many days where weather is in the 70s. You can thank the altitude for that! Denver sits a mile high above sea level. Because of the higher altitude, the cooler the temperatures are the further up you go. This confuses many, but there is an explanation for it! However, you will be surprised to know that despite the high amounts of snow, it melts quickly. Because of the cities high amount of days with sun, temperatures rise and snow melts.

Altitude Adjustments: When new to city in a higher altitude, you definitely have to let your body adjust. Adjustment can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. Some of the symptoms you may notice include fatigue, shortness of breath, headaches, dizziness and difficulty sleeping. As you acclimate to the new altitude, be sure to drink plenty of water, keep alcohol intake low and do not over exert yourself. When moving, you may want to enlist the help of a moving company so you do not put a strain on yourself. If you have any friends or family from other parts of the country, be sure to inform them of the risks of altitude sickness. Outdoor Maintenance: Given the amount of snow Denver receives each year, having the proper hardscaping and pavers can really cut down on maintenance. Interlocking pavers will not crack, fade or chip. They will stand up to the elements and provide a gorgeous appearance! They are especially helpful during the winter. These pavers are consistent in size and are completely flat. This will help you when shoveling or snow blowing to have a completely flat surface that will not catch on uneven areas. You can also invest in heated options to reduce the amount of shoveling you have to do during the winter.
